“My wife and I were on a course for divorce, but Ed, focused our thoughts. Nearly immediately, we realized divorce was not the course either of us wanted, but we still had difficulty communicating. Ed helped us to do this more effectively. We recommend Celebrate Marriage whole heartedly.”
“We were both raised in Christian homes & both believed that marriage was supposed to be forever. We took our vows that we made on our wedding day seriously. We had, however, reached a point in our marriage where we both felt that it was hopelessly irretrievable. We decided to give counseling a shot, if for no other reason than to say that we had tried that option also. We met with Ed and he was able to point out to us areas where each of us had contributed to the erosion of love, hope and trust that marriages are built upon. We are still grateful to Ed 27 years later for being concerned enough to take the time to spend with us. Even more importantly was his willingness to be used as a real servant. Ed Riddick will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”
A bit about our story..... After years of marriage, miscommunication and difficulties, we found Ed. He is a person I found to have a heart for helping married couples get through tough times and communicate better. We tried counseling separately with other counsellors with no real help, only more confusion. The first time I spoke to Ed he seemed to understand and came along side us explaining our natural human tendencies in a way that made sense. I am excited to hear Ed is continuing to help others... My prayers are with you!
Ed has been of immeasurable help to me over the last several years. First and foremos, he helped me through what was the most difficult time of my life when my marriage of 30 years was coming to an end. My whole world felt like it was upside down and crashing in all around me. I found myself in a new city, a new career, a new church and not one individual close by that I could turn to, but by the grace of God, Ed embraced me fully and helped me through it all. Fast forward a couple years, at a time when I felt I was ready to start a relationship with someone and was still experiencing some residuals from the failure and rejection associated with my first marriage, as well as trying to work out some of the "issues" that both my new partner and myself brought into our new relationship, Ed was once again there to help us navigate through it all and stay on course. Not sure if we would have made it without his help, but even if we had, I am certain that those waters would have been a lot rougher without him. He is educated, gifted and totally committed to helping marriages not only survive, but to see them thrive. I am happily married once again and I have Ed to thank for not only helping me, but for encouraging me to go forward. My lovely wife, Lizbeth, and I highly recommend Ed and Celebrate Marriage.
1. When we came to Ed our greatest challenge was: unresolved conflict and defensiveness
2. The solutions Ed helped us with are: developing tools to help identify when we were becoming defensive and how to make communication safely so resolution could occur.
3. Ed also helped us facilitate healthier communication and develop strategies to promote problem solving in our relationship.
When I came to Ed, my greatest challenge was anger management. I became easily angered and it affected my wife and kids in negative ways.
The solution Ed helped me with was how to identify the triggers, stop the anger cycle, how to diffuse the anger, and how to change my thought process.
I highly recommend Ed Riddick to you as someone who can…help you with brake the anger cycle and help you relate better with spouse and children.
